Swordfish Boat Encore, Montauk 1969

Encore, a 30' Mackenzie Cuttyhunk, built in 1968 was a swordfish and Tuna Charter boat out of Montauk, NY built for Marshall Helfland, a charter boat captain and owner of Montauk Deep Sea.  

She fished as sung in the Billy Joel song headed out of Block Island Sound to Nantucket and Georges banks 

Georges Bank is a large elevated area of the sea floor between Cape Cod, Massachusetts, (USA) and Cape Sable Island, Nova Scotia.

When Capt. Jack purchased Encore her spine broken, bottom rotten, decks gone and engines in poor shape.

After a museum quality TOTAL restoration by Taylor & Snediker with special design elements such as her bow sprit, butterfly hatch, 700 HP engines by Capt. Jack, Encore is this amazing yacht. Going down below you feel like you are on a Nova Scotia Schooner.
