Lighthouses & Life Saving Stations Tour
Capt. Jack Spratt, utilizing his book research (Capt. Jack is the author of "From These Shores") and incorporating his collection of historic photographs and artifacts will provide an informative and lively maritime history of shipwrecks, hurricanes, hero's, villians, Rum Wars, Revolutionary War, War of 1812 , whaling, sealing, slave & West Indies Trade, mining, farming, fishing, environmental awareness, the industrial revolution, aides to navagation, maritime law interdiction and sea rescues throughout Eastern Long Island, Fishers Island and Block Island Sounds from the shores of New York, Connecticut and Rhode Island much of early American History can be viewed FROM THESE SHORES !
1. Two (2) Hour Motoryacht ENCORE: Watch Hill, Stonington, Latimer, North Dumpling, Morgan Point Lighthouses, Folly, Fishers Island Coast Guard and Life Saving Station. This tour includes Watch Hill, Stonington, Fishers Island East and Noank Harbors. Lunch at dockside in Noank optional (adds 1 hour) Fees from these tours will be donated to the U.S. Coast Gurad Foundation
2. Watch Hill Lighthouse Land & Sea Tour three (3) Hours: Includes all above plus 1913 Model T Woody motorcar tour of Watch Hill and Watch Hill Lighthouse. Fees will be donated to Watch Hill Lightkeepers Association.
3. OCEAN HOUSE & WEEKAPAUGE INN GUESTS ONLY: Tuesday and Thursday's July and August. Four (4) hour Land & Sea Tour. All of the above. Pick up in front of Ocean House, motorcar tour and private tour of Watch Hill Lighthouse Museum. Charter fees donated to Watch Hill Lighthouse Keepers Association for the Restoration of lighthouse property as a result of Hurricane Sandy.
4. TEN LIGHTHOUSES! FULL DAY (8 hours) Lighthouses, Life saving Stations, Lightships and Private Mystic Seaport Tour including lighthouse museum, historic lighthouse supply tender Gerda III (the story of how this ship and her young female Capt. saved over 300 jews during WWII, Whale Ship Morgan, Special Museum Collections not open to the public. This includes; Watch Hill, Stonington, Latimer Reef, North Dumpling, Morgan Point, Race Rock, New London Ledge, New London Light, Avery Point and Little Gull Island Lighthouses, lunch at Noah's or Ford's Lobster shacks in Noank, Watch Hill, Stonington, Fishers Island East Harbors, Mystic River ( two unique bridge designs. You will see TEN (10) lighthouses including Block Island, Long Island, Fishers Island Sounds, Pawcatuck and Mystic Rivers traveling between THREE STATES! Mansions of Watch Hill, Stonington and Fishers Island. Private Islands. Comfortable seaworthy vessel ENCORE will be our base of operations along with dockside lunch, walking around the Mystic Seaport 18th century village and then Champagne homeward bound watching the magnificant SUNSET. Capt. Jack will tell you wonderful stories about the people, history, geology and natural history from the last Ice Age until today.

Tour requires steaming into the FAMOUS "Race" the entrance to Long Island Sound which can be very rough, therefore ENCORE an Ocean capable motor yacht (she was designed to fish in the open ocean) and only Captain Jack will provide these tours as Race Rock Light is considered "near coastal" and requires a USCG Near Coastal or Open Ocean License which Capt. Jack maintains. Visiting Race Rock Light is sea condition dependant and at the discretion of the Capt.
Other points of interest: Hungry Point Mansion, Fishers Island Club and Links, Hoverness AKA Glass House, North Dumpling Island Light, Morgan Point Light, Mystic Seaport replica of Nantucket Brant Point Light (this requires visiting Mystic Seaport and going into the exhibit on lighthouses which requires an additional two hours to the charter), Avery Point Light, New London Ledge Light, New London Light and Race Rock Light.
